Been getting enough sleep lately? Chances are, those 8 recommended hours are elusive at times, if not frequently unobtainable. The other night while I lay awake, unable to stop those chugging brain cogs, I wondered about the sleep requirements for other members of the animal kingdom. Do other animals require so much sleep? How do they sleep? Do they dream? Check out my article on the subject here: http://naturepods.com/node/265

I saw a deer the other day and thought it had a lot of red in its coat. It was beautifully sleek. Is it just me, or just this one deer, or have others noticed the color of deer this year as compared to previous years? I wrote a post on this in my blog at this link:

Recently I was able to participate in a hike up to the Trilobite beds located on Mt Stephen near Field, B.C.
Thes Burgess Shale Foundation runs several hikes in this area. The Burgess Shale is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is known for it's extensive fossils of the Cambrian period I believe.
There is a very good exhibit at the Tyrrell Museum on the Burgess Shale.
I thought I put a link in here to some pictures of the hike. Continue
