If the owl was with you for only 20 minutes, I am very thankful and grateful to you for taking care of him. So often, people take a bird in and then keep it as a "pet" and have it as though it is theirs. If you had the little guy for such a short time, and he was then able to get out and take care of himself, I do thank you, Gatekeeper. I must admit I do get more than a bit annoyed with people who keep wildlife as though it is their very own, and you have not done that, thank god! And what a change from the tropics! I imagine it has been a difficult time. To have seen all the wonderful creatures you have is truly wonderful - a life that so many others would envy. I would love to have seen them myself. It must have increased your sensitivity and love for the creatures of this world, having seen so much of it intimately. I am sorry to have caused you to be upset, and can understand it, and ask you to try to understand my viewpoint, too. I am certainly very glad you gave the owl a haven and then let it go, as you should have. Do you think it was able to see well when you released it? I am sorry to have ruffled your feathers. Mine were ruffled when I read and saw your posts. I am better now, and hope you are too. Let's shake hands across the miles and be friends, realizing that we are really both on the same side of the fence.

I really am taking offense to your responses . You live in the United States and should keep your sharpness for people that you mean it for. The little guy spent 20 minutes with us to recover. Are you suggesting I leave him lying around to die?
Hi again, Gatekeeper:
Are you a licenced rehabilitator? The owl is a nationally protected species... as are all wild birds. I hope you are a licenced rehabber with the appropriate permits. Others are not allowed to try to rehabilitate wildlife, nor to keep them in their possession.
